Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs seeks an Occupational Therapist I to provide evaluation, treatment, follow-up and documentation for inpatients and outpatients. This entry-level position is part of a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

The role includes supervision of therapy aides and students, collaboration with families, and ongoing professional development to improve clinical, educational, and advocacy goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR.
• Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy; NBOT certification; credentialing within 3 months of employment.
• Ideal applicants have inpatient experience and pediatric caseload experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with families, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care.
• Completes written documentation per department standards.
• Evaluates children from birth to 21 years with various diagnoses in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
• Demonstrates leadership and participates in professional development.
• Provides consultation and education to families.
• Treats children in specialized programs on inpatient/outpatient units, incorporating family-centered care.
