Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR.
  • Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy; NBOT certification; credentialing within 3 months of employment.
  • Ideal applicants have inpatient experience and pediatric caseload experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with families, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care.
  • Completes written documentation per department standards.
  • Evaluates children from birth to 21 years with various diagnoses in inpatient/outpatient settings.
  • Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in professional development.
  • Provides consultation and education to families.
  • Treats children in specialized programs on inpatient/outpatient units, incorporating family-centered care.

The Occupational Therapist I provide occupational therapy services including evaluation, treatment, follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatients and/or outpatients referred to the OT department. Provides supervision for therapy aides/assistants and students with specific patients or tasks as appropriate. Provides continuous consultation and education to families. The Occupational Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Additional Information
  • Job Details: PRN (as needed)
  • Shift: Varies based on the needs of the department, with weekends and rotating on call coverage for holidays.
  • This position requires a minimum of two weekend days per month, including availability for both Saturday and Sunday. Ideal applicants also have weekend day availability.
  • Eligible for shift differentials (PRN, evening and weekend)
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services.
  • Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames.
  • Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
  • Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
  • Provides consultation and education to families.
  • Treat children with a variety of diagnoses, and in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Clinical Practice Specialist and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.
Minimum Qualifications
  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field of study.
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR
  • LICENSURE - Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment
  • Ideal applicants have previous inpatient experience.
  • Experience working with medically complex pediatric patients, neurological diagnoses, acquired/traumatic brain injury, and acute rehabilitation needs.
Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $41.87 to $62.81
