Bring Your Expertise. Expand Your Clinical Impact.
Are you an Occupational Therapist who enjoys independent clinical problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applying specialized knowledge across diverse pediatric environments?
At TLC Pediatric Therapy, we recognize experienced clinicians for more than their years in practice. We value professionals who demonstrate ownership of their clinical development, sound professional judgment, mastery of organizational expectations, and the ability to translate therapeutic frameworks into meaningful outcomes for children and families.
Our Downtown Los Angeles Flagship Hub offers experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapists the opportunity to apply their expertise across school-based, community-based, and outpatient settings while contributing to clinical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
One career. Multiple clinical environments. Opportunities to advance your expertise and community impact.
Inspired by Childhood. Supported by Evidence. Delivered with Compassion.
For more than 25 years, TLC Pediatric Therapy has worked to improve how young children and families access developmental healthcare throughout Los Angeles County.
Founded in partnership with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), TLC's early work emerged from the development of an interdisciplinary medical‑clinical manual and a shared commitment to improving developmental identification and intervention.
Our work expanded into pediatric screening toolkits, family‑centered coaching, and warm handoff approaches through First 5 LA First Connections (2013–2022), supported by research collaboration with Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and TLC's founder‑developed BRIDGE™ framework. These initiatives also established feedback systems connecting referring pediatric providers with developmental outcomes and results from screening initiatives.
This history reflects our longstanding commitment to early identification, community partnerships, and translating clinical knowledge into improvements in healthcare delivery and policy.
Today, our DTLA Flagship Hub continues this mission through coordinated pediatric therapy services across schools, community organizations, and outpatient settings.
We are especially passionate about supporting children from birth to five years of age and strengthening relationships between families, healthcare providers, educators, and the communities they serve.
As an OTP 3–4 clinician, you will bring established pediatric competencies to a diverse caseload while exercising independent clinical judgment and contributing to interdisciplinary practice.
Collaborate with educators and school teams to assess and support children's participation in educational routines. Independently develop functional strategies addressing fine motor development, sensory‑motor skills, independence, and access to learning environments.
Partner with families and community organizations to support children's participation in natural environments. Apply caregiver coaching and collaborative problem‑solving to strengthen developmental outcomes and continuity of care.
Provide comprehensive pediatric assessments and individualized intervention at our DTLA Flagship Hub, addressing sensory processing, motor development, self‑care, feeding, play, and functional participation in collaboration with allied healthcare professionals.
At TLC, experienced clinicians are expected to move beyond theoretical familiarity with clinical frameworks toward thoughtful, independent implementation.
Our founder‑developed models provide opportunities to apply specialized knowledge across clinical settings:
Apply family‑centered coaching strategies that strengthen caregiver partnerships, communicate developmental knowledge effectively, and promote participation in everyday routines.
Contribute to coordinated assessments, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary clinical reasoning across occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, and other relevant disciplines.
Participate in interdisciplinary pediatric feeding approaches incorporating sensory processing, myofunctional development, swallowing, and the social‑relational experience of eating.
Help caregivers integrate evidence‑informed developmental strategies into meaningful daily activities and natural environments.
These models reflect TLC's commitment to reducing stigma, improving access, and strengthening collaboration between families, clinicians, and community partners.
Through TLC Clinical Compass™, experienced clinicians receive individualized professional development guidance, competency‑based reviews, interdisciplinary consultation, and opportunities to deepen specialized expertise.
At the OTP 3–4 level, professional growth is demonstrated through independent clinical decision‑making, consistent application of organizational policies, effective professional communication, and ownership of continuing education.
We value clinicians who recognize opportunities for improvement, seek advanced knowledge, and demonstrate how their professional development translates into stronger clinical practice.
Following one year of employment, TLCers become eligible for consideration for advancement into CoreCohort™, our advanced clinical career pathway.
Qualified CoreCohort™ clinicians may contribute to interdisciplinary clinical innovation, mentorship, specialized programming, and professional knowledge‑sharing.
Advancement reflects demonstrated clinical competency, professional accountability, effective implementation of specialized clinical models, successful performance reviews, and organizational needs.
