Job summary

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide home health OT services. You will evaluate, treat, and document patient progress while supervising COTAs and cosigning their work as required.

The role requires NY licensure and pediatric OT experience, with a focus on family education, home safety, and coordinating care with the care team in a home care setting.

Qualifications

• Registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or completed education requirements.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in New York.
• Minimum of one year of pediatric OT experience or affiliation.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled occupational therapy in accordance with the plan of care.
• Evaluates patient function and develops the plan of care for home health.
• Supervises COTA and cosigns documentation when required.
• Teaches home exercise program to patient and family.
• Monitors patient progress and communicates with RN and supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and agency standards.
• Maintains accurate patient care progress notes and reports weekly.
