Job summary

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our pediatric team in the Norco/Corona area. The clinician will deliver family-centered care, perform evaluations, and create effective treatment plans in a collaborative outpatient setting.

We emphasize teamwork across disciplines, ongoing professional growth, and programs that integrate hippo-therapy as part of a comprehensive plan. Competitive compensation and supportive mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) for pediatric population.
  • Experience with family-centered pediatric therapy approaches is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide family-centered OT services to children, aligning with physicians and treatment plans.
  • Administer evaluations and interpret results to plan therapy and progress.
  • Deliver direct patient care with a focus on functional skills and daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to coordinate care.
  • Develop and implement home exercise programs and caregiver training as needed.
  • Maintain patient records accurately and ensure confidentiality.

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice in need of a licensed Certified Occupational Therapist. We are a growing and fast-paced campus that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting, as well as on our ranch, with the incorporation of the horse as part of a comprehensive evidence-based plan (hippotherapy.)

Occupational Therapist-Pediatric Job Duties:

An Occupational Therapist-Pediatric delivers excellent family-centered patient care, that aims to support functional goals and needs of the patient and their family. Occupational Therapists perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and carrying out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.

  • Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as functional skills, sensory activities, and daily-living activities.
  • Administer occupational therapy treatment; and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Develop occupational therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, but providing these services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.
The compensation range varies based on experience: $83,200 - $104,000
  • This position includes the Ability to earn WEEKLY bonuses!
