Job summary

Children’s Nebraska seeks a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Generalist to lead onboarding, transition-to-practice, and ongoing professional development for pediatric clinicians. You will serve as a clinical expert, mentor preceptors, and partner with unit leaders to advance competency and readiness for safe, independent practice.

You will coordinate onboarding, coaching, and competency validation, ensuring documentation and continuity of education across shifts and teams within a culture

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Education preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience; preceptor experience valued.
• Licensure: RN in state of Nebraska or applicable state; required certifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and transition-to-practice for new clinicians.
• Provide direct patient care as applicable in pediatric settings.
• Lead unit-based preceptor program and education initiatives.
• Support competency validation and staff development across the unit.
• Collaborate with unit leaders and interdisciplinary teams to ensure education aligns with practice.
