Job summary

Cookeville Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team in Cookeville, TN. Under Medical Director supervision, you will provide pediatric healthcare within your scope and collaborate with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include obtaining health histories, performing physicals, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications within guidelines, ordering tests, documenting in EMR, and communicating clearly with patients

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing required.
2+ years of NP experience in clinic/practice or urgent care.
Pediatric experience preferred.
RN and NP licenses required.
Ability to prescribe/dispense per state laws.
Experience with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Obtain health history through interviews and chart reviews; assess illness, risk factors, and family history; perform physical exams.
Develop and implement treatment plans; prescribe/dispense medications per guidelines and state laws.
Diagnose diseases and administer appropriate treatment.
Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests; consult with physicians as needed.
Document assessments and treatment plans in patient charts; update medical records.
Communicate plans clearly to patients/families; promote self-management and preventive care.
Coordinate with care teams for office visit preparations and follow-up care.
Utilize telehealth to treat patients when appropriate.
