Children's National Hospital in Chevy Chase, MD is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric) to work independently with collaborative supervision, handling assessment, diagnostics, and treatment plans for pediatric patients.

The NP will order tests, interpret results, prescribe medications per protocols, and participate in clinical research. Minimum MSN, APRN licensure, BLS, CPNP or FNP-BC; 0–2 years pediatric experience required, with preference for two years.

Qualifications

• MSN graduation from an approved education program for Nurse Practitioners.
• APRN licensure in the state(s) of clinical practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• CPNP or FNP-BC certification.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient clinical status and medical history; perform examinations and developmental assessments.
• Order appropriate labs and imaging and interpret results to plan interventions.
• Collaborate with health care teams and community agencies to address patient care needs.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on protocols and patient/family needs.
• Independently prescribe legend drugs according to guidelines.
• Serve as a clinical role model for complex patient care issues and manage emergencies.
• Participate in on-call rotations and QA monitoring to improve patient care.

Formation

MSN Graduation from an approved education program for Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure in the state(s) of clinical practice

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (FNP-BC)
