Job summary

Family Care Health Centers seeks a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive health care to school-age children in school-based settings. You will collaborate with physicians, families, and the care team to deliver preventive, acute, and chronic care within an integrated model.

Required are an MSN or DNP with NP specialization, MO NP licensure, and board certification (PNP/FNP), plus BLS/CPR. Experience with schools and diverse populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSN or DNP with NP specialization required.
• Missouri NP licensure required.
• PNP or FNP board certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• DEA registration ability for prescribing controlled substances as applicable.
• Ability to establish Collaborative Practice Agreement with a MO physician.
• Experience with school-age children, adolescents and young adults.
• Knowledge of preventive care, behavioral health screening, reproductive health, sports physicals, school health requirements, and chronic disease management.
• Criminal background check and state fingerprinting required for school-based employment in Missouri.
• Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
• School-based health, pediatric, adolescent medicine, family medicine, community health or FQHC experience preferred.
• Experience collaborating with schools, community agencies and multidisciplinary care teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practice independently within NP scope, consulting with a physician for higher-risk cases.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists, center staff, and community resources.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic and screening tests as appropriate.
• Consult with staff on comprehensive health care for clients and families.
• Deliver school-based healthcare to students in assigned locations.
• Provide preventive, acute, and chronic disease management services.
• Develop and maintain policies, records, and data relevant to services.
• Ensure protocols are current and adequate for NP practices.
• Participate in staff service programs.
• Address health needs of school-age patients including physical, emotional, behavioral, and social aspects.
• Collaborate with school staff, behavioral health professionals, care teams, and families.
• Contribute to health equity and student success through community-centered care.
• Work within an integrated care model including medical, behavioral health, and community support.
• Maintain Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed Missouri physician.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and FERPA in all client care and recordkeeping.

Education
