Job summary

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Shenandoah is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced medical care to children and adolescents with complex medical, neurological, rehabilitative, and behavioral health needs. You will work with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other professionals to assess medical needs and manage conditions during hospitalization.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or equivalent NP certification.
Current, unrestricted Texas RN license.
Current, unrestricted Texas APRN NP licensure.
Current national board NP certification.
BLS certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical/neuro exams.
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
Provide direct medical care to pediatric/adolescent patients with complex needs.
Order and interpret labs/diagnostics and initiate interventions.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
Develop individualized healthcare plans and update physician reviews.
Document status, plans, and progress in medical records.
Participate in admission reviews and weekly treatment team meetings.
