Job summary

Nexus Children's Hospital - Shenandoah is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced medical care to children and adolescents with complex medical, neurological, rehabilitative, and behavioral health needs.

The NP works with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions during hospitalization, with emphasis on continuity of care, patient education, and family support.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or with post-master's certification.
Current, unrestricted Texas RN license.
Current, unrestricted Texas APRN NP licensure.
Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current BLS certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical and neurological examinations.
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions within NP scope.
Provide direct medical care to pediatric and adolescent patients with complex needs.
Order tests, interpret results, and initiate interventions.
Prescribe medications and treatments per policy and laws.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Develop individualized care plans and document progress.
Coordinate referrals to hospital and community resources.
