Job summary

UNC Health Rehabilitation Services in Chapel Hill is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist II to join our pediatric therapy team in the Level IV NICU at NC Children’s Hospital. The role emphasizes evaluation, treatment, and caregiver education within a multidisciplinary neonatal care model.

The ideal candidate brings a strong neonatal/pediatric background, NC licensure, and a commitment to family-centered care and clinical education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina.
• BLS certification.
• Five years of licensed PT experience, including one year in a specialty field.
• Prefer experience in neonatal, pediatric acute care or ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized PT evaluation and intervention for NICU infants.
• Develops and modifies individualized care plans with expected outcomes.
• Completes documentation, billing, and statistics per guidelines while managing caseload.
• Collaborates with families to educate and support infant development.
• Works with interdisciplinary NICU team to ensure coordinated care.
• Assists in specialty program development and quality improvement.
• Mentors staff and supports onboarding and competency verification.
• Provides education and precepting for students and teammates.
• Demonstrates leadership and professional development in neonatal practice.
