Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Pediatric Neurosurgery program as an Instructor. The APP will provide inpatient and outpatient care for children with neurosurgical disorders and participate in education, QI projects, and clinical research.

Responsibilities include acting as a surgical first assistant, caring for patients in the PICU/NICU and clinic, and coordinating with physicians, residents, and other staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP) or a graduate of an accredited program in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current active Colorado license as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant; prescriptive authority required.
• Credentialed APN or PA by the appropriate national certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first assistant in pediatric neurosurgery procedures.
• Care for hospitalized neurosurgical patients in PICU/NICU and on the ward.
• Attend clinic visits and evaluate new consultations in hospital/ED.
• Collaborate with faculty, APPs and residents to coordinate care.
• Occasional nights/weekends as part of the schedule.
• Support quality/safety improvement and education activities.
