Job summary

INAAP in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Pediatric Neurologist to join an established team for 100% pediatric neurology coverage with both outpatient clinic care and inpatient rounding. The role includes a 1:4 call rotation, with a lighter clinic load on call days.

• Open to new graduates and experienced physicians.
• Comfortable managing core pediatric neurology conditions including seizures, headaches, developmental delays, and genetic conditions.
• Ability to interpret EEGs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practice 100% pediatric neurology with no adult coverage.
• Inpatient rounding with typical clinic volume of 10–15 patients per day and inpatient census of 5–6.
• Call structure with a 1:4 rotation and lighter clinic volume on call days.
• Provide outpatient clinic care and inpatient rounding as part of a collaborative team.

Pediatric Neurologist | 100% Pediatric Practice | Baton Rouge, LA

Join an established pediatric neurology program with a collaborative team, specialty clinic resources, and a mix of outpatient care and inpatient rounding.

Position Highlights

• Pediatric Focus: Practice 100% pediatric neurology with no adult coverage.
• Established Team: Join 3 full time pediatric neurologists, 1 part time pediatric neurologist, APP support, and dedicated nursing staff.
• Specialty Resources: Access a Level 3 EMU, on site EEG capabilities, and specialty clinics including Botox and spasticity, neurodevelopmental, and new onset seizure clinics.
• Clinical Mix: Combine outpatient clinic care with inpatient rounding, with typical clinic volume of 10 to 15 patients per day and an inpatient census of 5 to 6 patients.
• Call Structure: Participate in a 1:4 call rotation with intentionally lighter clinic volume on scheduled call days.

Schedule

• Weekly Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Rounding Blocks: Inpatient rounding typically occurs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
• Administrative Time: One protected administrative day per week, which can be split into two half days.

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Neurology
• Open to new graduates and experienced physicians
• Comfortable managing core pediatric neurology conditions including seizures and epilepsy, headaches, developmental delays, and genetic conditions
• Ability to interpret EEGs preferred
