Pediatric Nephrology at Driscoll Children’s Hospital
The Driscoll Health System is recruiting a Pediatric Nephrologist to join a robust program dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for children in South Texas. We have openings at both our Corpus Christi and Edinburg locations.
The division offers a full range of clinical services, including living and deceased donor transplantation, acute and chronic hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis, and CRRT. Driscoll Children’s Hospital operates the only freestanding pediatric hemodialysis units in South Texas, with a 5-station unit in Corpus Christi and a 4-station unit in the Rio Grande Valley, supported by experienced dialysis nurses, dietitians, social workers, and child life specialists. The hospital is an active participant in organizations such as NAPRTCS, SCOPE, the Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Consortium, CKiD, and recently joined IROC.
The ideal candidate will be dual board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology and eligible for licensure in Texas. Driscoll Children’s Hospital is a 191-bed pediatric tertiary care center with over 30 specialties, serving South Texas, including Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, Victoria, and Laredo. Founded in 1953 by Clara Driscoll, it is the only free-standing children’s hospital in the region. In 2019, the hospital recorded over 141,000 patient visits, including more than 46,000 at the dedicated children’s emergency room.
The new eight-level hospital, located on the campus of Doctors Hospital Renaissance Health, will be the only freestanding children’s hospital in the Rio Grande Valley, expanding access to pediatric services such as inpatient and outpatient surgery, emergency care, Level III NICU, PICU, rehabilitation, and various therapies.
