Job summary

Children's Health seeks a Milieu Therapist for the Behavioral Health area at the Plano Campus. This part-time, on-site role supports treatment plans for pediatric patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Requires a Bachelor's degree and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interact therapeutically with patients during milieu activities and rooms.
• Provide direct patient care including activities of daily living and personal care.
• Support RNs by collecting vital signs, data, and specimens as trained.
• Report patient status changes to charge nurse or physician promptly.
• Escort patients to off-unit appointments when needed.
• Educate patients and families about program processes and treatment plans.
• Offer emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist with implementing treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Participate in classroom learning activities and behavior programs.
• Communicate observations and interventions to the multidisciplinary team.
• Facilitate milieu-based groups and monitor treatment responses in EHR.
• Respond to crises and intervene therapeutically as needed.
