Job summary

LEEAP Center in Charlotte, NC seeks a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate to join its SAT Program. The role involves diagnostic assessments, evidenced-based individual/family counseling, and play/sand therapy for children and adolescents within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Strong candidates hold a CACREP-aligned master’s degree, NC LCMHCA licensure, and experience with child therapy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program.
• Current North Carolina licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA).
• Clinical experience providing counseling to children and adolescents.
• Experience serving as primary therapist for individual, family, and group counseling.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Training and clinical experience in play therapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic intakes and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group counseling services.
• Provide play therapy and sand therapy to children and adolescents.
• Provide regularly scheduled parent sessions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case consultations, and supervision sessions.
• Stay informed on current pediatric mental health practices.
• Adhere to professional, ethical, legal, and clinical standards.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for acute mental health concerns.
• Support culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and family-centered care.
