Advocate Health Care in Matthews, NC, seeks a Laboratory Support professional for a full-time role (36 hours/week). Pay ranges from $24.10 to $36.15 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a large health system.

Responsibilities include handling specimens, performing phlebotomy where needed, maintaining quality control, and documenting results and critical value alerts to clinical staff. A lab training program and certification are required.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a CLIA program for Clinical Lab Assistants or Medical Lab Technicians required.
• Certification by a nationally recognized agency/board or equivalent experience required.
• Laboratory experience preferred.

• Maintains up-to-date laboratory manuals and implements inspection regulations.
• Completes workload within established turnaround times by organizing test orders.
• Assesses test urgency and prioritizes tasks accordingly.
• Prepares specimens, verifies patient identification, and handles recollections if needed.
• Uses and maintains lab equipment and instruments used in testing.
• Performs maintenance and quality control documentation.
• Prepares reagents for test performance as required.
• Calculates, reports and maintains records of test results.
• Reviews results and notifies physicians/nurses of critical values; documents alerts.
• Performs phlebotomy and finger sticks as needed.
