Job summary

Child Serve is seeking a Medical Childcare Assistant in Des Moines, IA, to support health, growth, and skill development as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will deliver care and treatment per individualized plans, collaborating with nurses and therapists to promote development.

Preferred candidates hold a two-year degree in human services or education or are pursuing further studies; English proficiency is required. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, retirement plan, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in human services or education requested; candidates pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree will be considered.
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Must pass Iowa DCI background checks and FBI checks as specified.
• Must read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young adults in developing independence and skills.
• Provide care and treatment per individualized care plans, including nursing and therapy.
• Create a safe, therapeutic environment that fosters growth and well-being.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with nurses, therapists, families, schools, and team members.
