ChildServe in Des Moines is seeking a Medical Childcare Assistant to support the health, growth, and skill development of children and young adults. This role involves providing care according to individualized plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote child development.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with special healthcare needs and be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Flexible hours are required, particularly between 3–6 PM.

In this role, you will provide care and assist with treatment services outlined in each child’s individualized care plan. You will also collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of nurses and therapists to promote each child’s development and skill retention.
ChildServe’s Medical Childcare program provides specialized weekday care for children and teens with significant medical needs and developmental delays, offering a uniquely integrated model of nursing, education, and therapy. The program is staffed by specially trained caregivers who work alongside nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists to deliver individualized treatment plans built into the day, allowing families to spend time together after work and school, rather than managing multiple appointments. Child-centered and goal-driven, the program helps children build self-confidence, social competence and life skills in a safe, inspiring environment.
This position is located at our NEW Des Moines location: 1750 48th Street, Des Moines, IA. Flexible hours are required, with a high need for availability between 3‑6 PM. Our center is open Monday‑Friday between 7 AM and 6 PM.
