Job summary

ChildServe’s Medical Childcare program seeks a part-time Medical Childcare Assistant to support children and teens with medical needs. You will work with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and caregivers to implement individualized care plans and promote growth in a safe environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with nursing, therapy, and behavior support, documenting progress, and collaborating with families and schools.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in human services or education; candidates actively pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree will be considered.
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Must pass Iowa DCI background checks and FBI check prior to hire and every two years thereafter.
• Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young adults in developing and maintaining skills.
• Provide care and treatment according to individualized care plans (nursing, therapy, behavior support within scope).
• Create a safe, therapeutic, engaging environment that encourages growth.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with nurses, therapists, families, schools, and team members.
