Job summary

Cherry Health, Michigan’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), seeks a Medical Assistant to join our interdisciplinary care team in Grand Rapids. You will support providers, prepare charts, take vital signs, assist with examinations, and manage vaccine programs, while adhering to organizational policies and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has an accredited Medical Assisting program and relevant certifications (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/ARMA/NRCMA) and 1–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/ARMA/NRCMA certifications.
• In-house specialties training program competency in EHR templates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts and review health information; update orders and gather records.
• Greet patients and manage clinic flow; direct to exam rooms.
• Take vital signs, perform screening tests, and document in the EHR.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; prepare for and clean up afterward.
• Administer medications per guidelines; manage vaccine program inventory and reporting.
