Job summary

Cherry Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support the Adult Internal Medicine clinic in Grand Rapids. You will prepare charts, take vital signs, assist with examinations, administer medications per guidelines, and manage vaccine programs while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Working Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm with two Saturdays per year, you will operate within an interdisciplinary team and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR and adherence to policies and safety

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.
• 1–2 years of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification required.
• Proficiency with EHR data entry and documentation.
• Ability to coach and mentor others in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare charts and review population health data.
• Greet patients and manage clinic flow.
• Take vital signs and perform basic screening tests.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications/injections per guidelines.
• Document results in the EHR and prepare specimens for transport.
