Job summary

Pediatric Associates Family of Companies is seeking a Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to support pediatric care teams. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks under clinician supervision, aiming to deliver a safe, welcoming patient experience and accurate records.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, MA certification or 1 year MA experience, BLS, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• MA Diploma/Certification required, or a minimum of 3 years MA experience.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Current, valid driver's license required.
• Minimum 1 year of MA experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and immunization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high quality patient experience; welcome patients; ensure a safe patient environment and proper supplies.
• Take and document patient vitals (height, weight, temp, BP, pulse, respirations) and notify clinician of abnormalities.
• Interview patients and document medical histories, medications, allergies, and records.
• Assist with examinations and procedures under clinician supervision.
• Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation and provide vaccine information statements.
• Maintain vaccine cold chain and report excursions.
• Identify patients and document vaccines; administer injections as needed.
• Handle patient communications, prescriptions, referrals, and forms.
