Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Pulmonology: MCP - Pediatrics: Pulmonary Medicine team. This full-time role (40 hours/week) performs vital clinical and administrative tasks, adheres to safety and privacy guidelines, and helps maintain a professional patient experience.

Responsibilities include rooming, vital signs, med reconciliation, lab duties, vaccines, and scheduling; must have MA program completion, HS diploma, BLS, and competency through

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health's competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follow policies.
• Perform rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, history, and screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture and basic lab duties per standing orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of medication administration.
• Complete additional duties such as referrals, scheduling, and documentation.
• Cross train to support clinic operations and maintain clear communication.
