Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support multi-disciplinary patient care. Daily shifts include weekdays and weekends with orientation requirements to 20 hours per week until orientation is complete.

This role emphasizes vitals, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and compassionate patient interaction to ensure safe, efficient care. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved medical services training program.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required
• Experience with vitals, phlebotomy, and specimen collection preferred
• Must complete Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Assists in direct patient care under supervision of licensed staff
• Completes provider orders and processes
• Takes and records vital signs during patient intake
• May perform phlebotomy, administer vaccines or meds as directed
• Maintains infection control and safety procedures
• Greet patients and families, communicate delays and assist as needed
• Performs administrative duties to promote efficient operations
