Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Assistant to support all department disciplines and deliver safe patient care under physician supervision. Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, and assisting with basic clinical tasks while maintaining strong communication with patients and families.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved medical assistant program. BLS within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists in basic delivery of patient care as assigned by licensed professionals.
• Completes assigned tasks/orders from provider.
• Demonstrates competency during intake process, including accurate vital signs.
• May assist with phlebotomy, basic medications or vaccines, spirometry, and radiographs under physician direction.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families and coordinates with department staff.
• Performs administrative duties to promote efficient operations, including opening/closing procedures and answering phones.
