Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Inc. is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support the Diagnostics Team and clinic operations.

The role involves organizing, restocking supplies, and providing high-quality patient care with emphasis on safety and professionalism. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of relevant experience or completed a recognized Medical Assistant externship, plus a high school diploma and a certified BLS within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in the role of medical assistant, patient care tech or equivalent or have completed Medical Assistant Externship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or emergency medical technician or hospital or physician office-based training as a patient care technician or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in basic delivery of patient care as assigned/directed by licensed professional personnel.
• Completes assigned tasks/orders from provider.
• Demonstrates competency during intake process, including accurate vital signs.
• May demonstrate competency in phlebotomy, vaccination administration, spirometry, or radiographs under physician direction.
• Organizes and communicates effectively to prioritize and document patient care.
• Greet patients, relay delays, and assist families with needs; restock beverages and update wait-time boards.
