Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric primary care providers. You will prepare patients for exams, administer vaccines, collect specimens, and document vitals in the electronic health record.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program, with at least 1 year of pediatric office experience preferred. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Basic math calculations required.
• Knowledge of examinations, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Medical equipment and medical terminology essential.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment; verify patient identity; record vital signs in the EHR.
• Administer vaccines, medications and treatments as prescribed by provider.
• Collect and process lab specimens.
• Observe and report patient condition and reactions to treatments to provider.
• Assist providers with allergy, medication, and history management.
