Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, prepare examination rooms, and assist with phlebotomy and routine lab tasks in a busy ambulatory clinic in Fairfax, VA. You will work under the supervision of physicians and clinic operations staff to ensure smooth visits and accurate documentation.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with formal Medical Assistant certification, CPR, and at least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with formal Medical Assistant certification.
• 1 year related healthcare experience preferred.
• Must complete CNH phlebotomy training if phlebotomy is performed.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient flow and assist with patient treatments.
• Prepare patients and rooms for visits; collect specimens and perform basic lab tasks.
• Answer phones, schedule and confirm appointments, and manage patient information.
• Prepare charts and ensure proper demographics and consent forms are in place.
• Assist physicians with orders, injections, and patient care activities.
• Maintain a clean, stocked ambulatory setting and monitor medical equipment.
