Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support quality patient care in a pediatric setting. You will perform clinical tasks under RN/LPN delegation, schedule appointments, and assist with rooming patients including vital signs and basic screenings.

The role requires graduation from an accredited MA program or 5 years of equivalent experience, plus CPR certification. Pediatric experience is preferred, and strong communication and data-entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience.
• CPR certification (AHA HeartSaver with pediatric content) required.
• Familiarity with EMR and data entry; ability to learn hospital systems.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, documents, reports and other materials of varying complexity and confidentiality.
• Schedules patient appointments and provides follow-up and reminder calls.
• Assists with rooming patients, taking vital signs, heights and weights, and screening questions.
• Provides basic patient care under RN/LPN delegation and administers approved medications.
• May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff and students.
