Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for the Fairfield County region, principally in Westport, CT. The role supports administrative, clinical, and department duties to ensure patient flow and safety.

You will assist with check-in/out, scheduling, referrals, specimen collection, and record documentation under RN/Practice Manager supervision. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; vocational training may substitute.
• Experience: No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient check-in/check-out and scheduling of appointments.
• Answering and directing calls; processing pre-authorizations and pre-certifications.
• Prepare and file medical records; maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment; support procedures per guidelines.
• Take initial patient intake: chief complaint, vital signs, allergies; update records.
• Perform point-of-care testing QC and track lab/diagnostic results as directed.
• Assist with prescription renewals and cross-cover clinical roles.
• Maintain medical supplies, stock patient forms, and manage audits.
