Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant II to support our Pediatric Primary Care team. You will coordinate patient visits, assist with exams, administer vaccines under provider direction, and ensure smooth patient flow in a kid-friendly practice.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of medical assisting experience, active CMA/RMA/CCMA or NCMA/NRCMA certification, and strong communication skills. Travel to other Nemours locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience as a medical assistant.
• Active CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA certification.
• Travel to other locations required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and collect vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction and protocols.
• Collect specimens, perform basic laboratory testing, and prepare rooms and equipment.
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate patient flow to promote efficient, high-quality care.
• Educate patients and families using approved materials and instructions.
• Maintain a comforting environment for children and caregivers.
• Ensure exam room cleanliness and infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.
