Job summary

Advocate Health’s Midtown Pediatrics in Charlotte, NC seeks a qualified Medical Assistant to support pediatric patients in a General Pediatrics setting. You will conduct vital signs, histories, screenings, rooming, and assist with procedures under provider supervision.

The role requires MA certification/licensure, BLS, and CLIA-waived lab experience with patient education and care coordination across divisions as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• Wake Forest, IL/WI, Floyd & Navicent divisions specify additional education requirements for MA roles.

Responsibilities

• Room patients: vital signs, med history, health maintenance and screenings.
• Assist provider with or perform procedures as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture and POCT; lab tests per CLIA standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines following medication rights.
• Handle referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and patient messaging.
• Maintain a clean, stocked work environment and train teammates when needed.
