Job summary

Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth, Maine is seeking a Medical Assistant I to provide direct and indirect patient care under clinical direction of the provider. The role includes routine intake of patients which includes taking vital signs and chart prep, performing point of care testing as appropriate, and assuring patients understand their plan of care and instructions.

Qualifications

• Certification or Registration from a national Medical Assisting Organization.
• No previous experience required.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly collect and understand the required vital signs, screening questions.
• Properly gather a history and reason for visit.
• Ensure a complete medication reconciliation is completed at each visit.
• Perform venipuncture, label and deliver lab specimens, immunizations, and prepare patient for procedure.
• Provides care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
