Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, Maine, is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, 40-hour workweek.

The role provides direct and indirect patient care under office leadership, performing vital signs, point-of-care testing, and ensuring patients understand discharge instructions. You may transport patients and manage phone messages, orders, and outstanding tasks.

Salary range listed is $18.50–$22.10 per hour, with additional compensation elements as applicable.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited two-year Medical Assistant program or certified by NHA or AAMA preferred.
• National certification must be attained within 6 months if not certified.

Responsabilidades

• Communicates with patients and families, physicians, and other health care staff to ensure quality care.
• Gathers vital signs and conducts point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
• Transports patients when required and supports discharge instructions.
• Responds to phone messages and assists with orders to keep providers informed.
