Job summary

Nemours Children's Health seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant I for our Central Florida Neurology team in Downtown Orlando. You will coordinate patient visits, assist with procedures, and support providers and families in a pediatric neurology setting.

You will help collect clinical information, prepare patients for visits, and ensure providers have the data they need to deliver high-quality care. Travel to other Nemours locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Travel to other Nemours locations required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits by collecting vital signs and histories.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision per protocols.
• Collect specimens and perform basic lab testing.
• Document patient information in the EMR accurately.
• Coordinate patient flow to support efficient, high-quality care.
• Educate patients and families using provider-approved materials.
• Maintain a comforting environment for children and caregivers.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean and equipment is properly maintained.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Perform additional duties within MA II scope as needed.
