Job summary

Advocate Health in Northwest Greensboro is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Pediatrics department. This full-time role supports patient intake, vital signs, and coordination of care for ages birth to 21, with a 40-hour workweek (Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm) and rotating Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities include performing lab procedures, assisting physicians, administering routine medications, and preparing patients for exams.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Ability to perform routine and complex clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting pertinent health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists Physician/APP with procedures and administers routine medications per orders.
• Coordinates tests, referrals, and questions with care team and patients.
• Communicates effectively with patients and health care staff to ensure smooth clinic flow.
• May perform phlebotomy, ECG, and other tasks under supervision.
