Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Pediatrics: General department, working Monday through Friday, 8–5, with a 40-hour week and benefits eligible.

The role involves rooming patients, vitals, history taking, and support for providers with procedures, plus lab and vaccine duties. A high school diploma and accredited MA program completion are required, with BLS and CLIA waivers as applicable.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex MA tasks within scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with patients and physicians.
• Proficient computer skills, including EMR usage and digital documentation.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and patient-facing skills.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists providers with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per safety protocols.
• Manages scheduling, referrals, and patient communications as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and equipment.
• Communicates effectively with the care team and escalates when appropriate.
• Ensures age-appropriate care understanding across patient lifespans.
