Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support multiple disciplines within the department. This role emphasizes safe patient care, accurate vital signs, and patient/family communication under physician direction.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited MA program. BLS certification within 30 days of employment is expected, with potential exposure to phlebotomy and radiography as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in medical assistant, patient care tech, or equivalent.
• Pediatrics experience preferred, including obtaining vitals and assisting clinical staff.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited school or EMT/hospital-based training as patient care technician.

Responsibilities

• Assists in basic delivery of patient care under licensed professionals, using age-appropriate standards.
• Completes tasks and orders from providers and demonstrates competency in intake, vitals, and patient care.
• May perform phlebotomy, simple medication administration, spirometry, and radiographs under physician direction.
• Maintains organization, communication, and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.
• Greet patients, relay delays, assist families, and perform administrative duties to promote efficient operations.
