Job summary

Children's of Alabama in Birmingham is seeking a part-time staff member for the 9 Harbert Medical-Surgical unit. Working under RNs and LPNs, you will provide assistive care, clerical support, and clear communication for patients, families, and staff in a busy pediatric environment.

The schedule is day-evening on weekdays with every other weekend, 0645–1915, on the Main Campus Harbert Tower. This role emphasizes compassionate care for children with nephrology and GI disorders while gaining skills

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience required and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Six months of patient care experience within the last two years, or enrollment in a medical-related program with clinical rotation.
• CNA, CMA, PCT or EMT certifications are acceptable qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Provide clerical support and effective communication among patients, staff and visitors.
