Job summary

McLane Children's Hospital in Temple, TX seeks a compassionate RN for the Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit on a full-time Night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). The unit is a 48-bed, all-private pediatric area serving ages 0–21, with opportunities to administer pediatric chemotherapy and a broad range of medical-surgical care.

Requirements include 1–2 years of pediatric nursing experience, RN license, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Specialized field of nursing
• RN license
• BLS certification and if not held, must obtain within 30 days of starting

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care using a professional practice model, including assessment and care planning.
• Recognize health issues early and create effective care plans for pediatric patients.
• Assess patient responses and education needs for patients and families.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower informed healthcare choices.
• Delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
