Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 4 East Unit in Wilmington, DE. This full-time position requires 72 hours every two weeks with every third weekend rotation and flex holiday coverage as needed.

You will assist with general patient care activities and support the health care team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. The 4 East Unit is a 24-bed medical unit serving pediatric and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write accurately.
• Ability to understand laboratory orders, computer information, and some medical terminology.
• Current American Heart Association BLS.
• Inpatient experience preferred.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, etc.) and provide patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care unit.
• Assist with transporting patients and delivering reports, supplies, etc.
• Use Hospital Information Systems for documentation of vital signs and patient care activities.
• Provide 1:1 sitter coverage for medically complex or behavioral health patients as assigned.
