Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our Short Stay Observation Unit in Wilmington, DE. The role is part-time, casual, with 48 hours per six-week block and night shifts plus weekend/holiday rotation.

The unit handles general medical-surgical patients in a pediatric setting, using modern monitors and inpatient systems. You will assist with activities of daily living, charge accuracy, and interprofessional collaboration under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• Able to read and write accurately.
• Able to understand laboratory orders, computer information, and some medical terminology.
• Able to obtain specimens (blood etc.) from pediatric patients.
• Current American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general activities of the patient care unit.
• Support health care team with patient care activities under RN guidance.
• Ensure adequate stock of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain clean and safe patient care unit.
• Assist with delivering reports, specimens, and supplies as needed.
• Help with front desk duties when required.
