Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for its Charlotte Pediatrics Matthews location. The role focuses on pediatric patient care, procedures, and collaboration with physicians in a fast-paced clinic.

The position requires a state LPN license, BLS certification within 45 days, and strong communication and organizational skills. Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with a 40-hour workweek and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited LPN program.

• Ability to work within pediatric clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists physician with procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Administers medications under orders, including immunizations and IV therapy where appropriate.
• Provides patient education and coordinates follow-up care and referrals.
• Communicates with physicians and care team; documents patient status accurately.
• Performs advanced clinical tasks under supervision as trained.
• Organizes exam rooms and labs; maintains equipment and supplies.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and cares for patients across ages.
• Makes patient-age appropriate assessments and plans of care.
