Job summary

Pediatric Healthcare Associates is seeking a Pediatric Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Waterbury, CT. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care for patients from infancy through young adulthood.

The LPN will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care and support a collaborative clinical team. The full-time position requires 30 to 37.5 hours per week with day/evening shifts, and occasional weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited LPN program with a current CT license.
• Experience preferably in pediatrics.
• EHR experience.
• Experience administering injections.

Responsibilities

• Process X-Ray orders.
• Process prescription refills faxed from pharmacies and monitor office prescription refill line.
• Perform checks for crash cart monthly.
• Complete DCF forms.
• Read, record, and process all cultures.
• Monitor clinician’s schedules and bring areas of concern to a manager.
• Monitor and complete Tasks for all offices in EHR.
• Scribe with clinicians (unless not requested).
• Review and prioritize phone and task messages for physicians.
• Answer patients’ questions and respond to requests.
• Dress wounds, give injections, and provide immunizations.
• Educate patients on asthma medications & equipment, Epi pen, treatments, etc.
• Review charts when needed for transfers, medication requests, etc.
• Reorder vaccines, medicine, or oxygen when necessary.
• VCF ordering and supply monitoring.
• Conduct lab tests and procedures.
• Triage
• Monitor injection list.
• Respond to all communications via PHA email, Elevate, task etc.
