Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a Lab Associate to perform specimen collection and handling in the outpatient lab setting. The role requires a phlebotomist with a focus on pediatric patients and the ability to work well in a close-knit team.

Candidate should have a HS diploma or GED, with pediatric phlebotomy experience highly preferred. Typical schedule is full-time, weekdays with every 4th weekend, and benefits support from BJC Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and tests in the appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy with patient identification and quality specimen collection.
• Sort and process specimens and ensure proper handling in the lab.
• Coordinate multiple tasks to meet turnaround times and workload.
• May handle registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
