Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando, Florida, seeks a Pharmacy Technician (Full-Time) to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role supports preparation and delivery of medications in inpatient and outpatient settings, supervised by a pharmacist, with rotating day/evening shifts and occasional overnights.

You will work with Pyxis, IV admixtures, unit dose packaging, and barcoding systems, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience required. Pharmacy Internship experience or completion of a six month Pharmacy Technician training program may be considered as required work experience.
• Florida Pharmacy Technician licensure required within 6 months of hire. Florida Pharmacy Intern license may be accepted in lieu of Florida Pharmacy Technician License.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and delivery of medications to patients and provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Perform aseptic and parenteral compounding, including chemotherapy or other specialty solutions.
• Prepare medications for distribution and maintain dispensing records.
• Cross-trained to perform technician duties in either Retail or Inpatient Pharmacy.
• Calculate dosages and prepare solutions using metric measurements.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and with Nemours policies.
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy equipment (e.g., Pyxis, packager) and maintain inventory.
