Job summary

Indiana University Health's Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join a nationally recognized pediatric team. You'll support pharmacists, nurses, and clinicians to ensure timely, accurate medication distribution in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of pharmacy technician experience, a Indiana license, and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training OR Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or enrolled in or graduated from an ASHP/ACPE accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
• Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
• Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Requires ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures.
• Requires ability to learn effective written and communication skills.
• Requires ability to learn and execute customer services skills.
• Requires basic proficiency typing and using Microsoft office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Support medication preparation and compounding activities following established standards and procedures.
• Deliver medications throughout the hospital and replenish automated dispensing cabinets.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and medication records within pharmacy systems.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with medication safety standards, regulatory requirements, and departmental policies.
• Work closely with pharmacy and clinical teams to support outstanding patient care across the hospital.
