Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an Infection Prevention Epidemiologist to advance patient safety through infection prevention principles across the system. You will monitor health‑acquired infections, analyze data and partner with care teams to reduce transmission and improve care quality.

Responsibilities include regulatory reporting, emergency preparedness planning, and collaboration with diverse departments to uphold standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, public health or related field.
• Current GA professional license or equivalent in health field.
• CIC or CPH certification eligible within two years.
• Experience with infection prevention and control in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Surveil infections using CDC criteria and data sources.
• Communicate with nurses, physicians and staff on prevention practices.
• Analyze data; create charts and reports for leadership and committees.
• Report to regulatory agencies and support emergency preparedness.
• Provide 24/7 infection prevention coverage and collaborate on quality initiatives.
